When thinking about your divorce process you should consider alternatives to the traditional court-based adversary system. Most professionals (including most judges!) agree that a trial before a judge is a very bad way to resolve disputes in a divorce. You can keep more control over the process, reduce costs and minimize conflict by using alternatives such as mediation and arbitration. Like all conflict resolution, these methods require creative planning, effort and skill. But when done well, they produce superior results with a lower cost than litigation. |
